The Orlando Police Department has released body camera footage of an officer-involved shooting that took place on January 3, 2025, at 401 John Young Parkway. The incident occurred around 2:20 p.m. when officers responded to a call from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office about a man, later identified as Marvin Martin, 63, who was reportedly carrying a firearm near a BP gas station.
Upon arrival, officers encountered Martin, who was wearing all black clothing and holding a gun. Officers repeatedly ordered him to drop the weapon, but he ignored their commands. The officers then shot Martin, who was transported to the hospital in stable condition. Unfortunately, Martin passed away due to complications after the incident.
Martin, a convicted felon, had an extensive criminal history, including charges for drug possession, theft, and aggravated battery. He had served a twenty-year sentence in Miami-Dade County for second-degree murder, carrying a concealed firearm, and resisting an officer with violence. He was released from prison in 2023…
