Additional snowfall on Monday will be follow by extreme cold for the rest of the week

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. & Ottumwa, Ia — After our previous weather system moved out of the area on Saturday, colder temperatures arrived on Sunday. However, another weather system will move in on Monday and parts of Iowa and Missouri could get another shot of snow.

The Tristate area will be in the cold sector of this weather system for its entire lifetime and not only will there be a chance for snow, extremely cold wind chills are expected as well.

First off, parts of Iowa and Missouri are expecting some accumulating snowfall on Monday. More is also possible on Tuesday, but by that point, the heavier snowfall will be in southern Missouri and extreme northern Arkansas.

There will still be a chance for snow on Tuesday, but that will be overshadowed by the extremely cold air temperatures and wind chills expected over the area. Some locations in the Tristate area can see wind chill values between -10 and -20 degrees…
