Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) launched social media accounts for numerous federal agencies. The goal is to encourage public input on government waste, fraud, and abuse.
David Sacks, the White House’s artificial intelligence and crypto czar, announced the new accounts on X. He highlighted the accounts’ purpose of exposing wasteful spending.
Over two dozen agency-specific DOGE accounts are now listed as affiliates of the main DOGE account. These accounts invite the public to direct message them with tips.
While the accounts are currently focused on gathering information, they haven’t yet publicized specific agency cuts.
Last week, DOGE launched a website showcasing its cost-cutting efforts. This “wall of receipts” details canceled contracts and leases.
The website also ranks agencies by total savings and savings as a percentage of their budgets.
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) currently leads in both categories. The Department of Education is second in total savings, while the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is second in percentage savings.
