Local Bank of America Branches to Close as Customers Move Online
With more people banking online, Bank of America is closing several branches across the country. While convenient for some, these closures can pose challenges for those who prefer in-person banking services.
Several California branches are slated to close throughout 2025, starting with a Grass Valley location in April. Closures are also planned for San Jose and San Mateo in May, Davis in June, Huntington Beach in October, Camarillo in November, and San Francisco in December.
A Florida branch in Wellington will close in May 2025. Despite this closure, multiple Bank of America locations remain open in the area.
Two Illinois branches in Lake in the Hills and Mundelein closed in January 2025. A Kentucky location in Fort Campbell, currently listed as temporarily closed, will permanently close in September.
A Massachusetts branch in Lynnfield will close in mid-March. In Nevada, a Las Vegas branch will close in September, although other branches remain open in the city.
A Charleston, South Carolina, branch on Savannah Highway is scheduled to close in October. The next closest branch with a full-service financial center will then be in Hilton Head.
In Texas, an Arlington branch will close in September, but numerous other branches are available in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. A Burke, Virginia branch will close in May, while nearby branches in Lorton and Fairfax will remain open.
Three Seattle, Washington branches are affected. Two locations on Madison Street and SW Admiral Way closed in January and February, respectively. Another Seattle branch on Rainier Avenue South will close in late April.
While these closures reflect the shift towards digital banking, many customers still value in-person services. Fortunately, Bank of America maintains numerous branches in most of the affected areas. The bank encourages customers to explore online and mobile banking options for their convenience.
