Suspect in Housing Authority officer shooting now charged with separate DC murder

WASHINGTON — The man already facing charges for shooting a District Housing Authority police officer now faces additional charges for a separate deadly shooting and an attack in D.C. after investigators found evidence connecting guns used in the attacks.

Victor Scott Terrill, 41, of Landover, Maryland, had been arrested for shooting the officer in Navy Yard on Feb. 29, 2024. According to court documents, two Housing Authority officers responded to a reported disturbance at a Southeast D.C. apartment building early on Feb. 29. During the encounter, Terrill allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired at one of the officers before fleeing. A second officer witnessed further gunfire exchanged between Terrill and the wounded officer.

The injured officer was rushed to a hospital, while law enforcement launched a citywide search for Terrill. He was found and arrested that day…
