Man sentenced to 17.5 years in prison after firing shots into a party bus in downtown Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. — A 29-year-old man was sentenced to 17.5 years in prison on Wednesday for firing shots inside a party bus in downtown Portland that left a man hospitalized for weeks.

In mid-December, a 12-person jury found Dwayne Driver guilty of attempted murder and assault. A Multnomah County judge sentenced Driver to the maximum possible amount, the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office said.

Surveillance video across the street from the Chevron gas station, where this occurred, on West Burnside and Southwest 4th Avenue, caught Driver getting on the party bus and firing shots. Footage shows Driver exiting the passenger side of a silver Audi SUV before stepping foot onto the bus and then driving off afterwards.
