HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Hampton police are investigating a shooting that left one man injured in Hampton Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 1:25 p.m., Hampton Public Safety Communications received a call in reference to a shooting that occurred in the 1400 block of Aberdeen Road.
Officers arrived on scene to find a 58-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening.
A preliminary investigation determined that the victim was walking in the 1400 block of Aberdeen Road when he heard a loud noise. He advised shortly after realizing he had been shot.
The victim was taken to a local hospital.
