DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County Police Chief Mirtha Ramos, the first woman to lead the department, says she is stepping down from the role.
She said in a statement Thursday it has “been an honor to serve DeKalb County for the last 5 years” and highlighted what she called during her tenure ” amazing progress in securing competitive pay for officers, reducing violent crime and homicide rates, and regaining the trust of our citizen.”
