Man robs Family Dollar at gunpoint, steals money, cigarettes, police say

Syracuse, N.Y. — A man robbed a Family Dollar employee at gunpoint in Syracuse Wednesday night, stealing cash and cigarettes from the store, police said.

The man entered the store at 3120 James St. and held an employee at gunpoint, demanding money, according to Kieran Coffey, a spokesperson for the Syracuse Police Department. The robbery was reported at about 11:22 p.m.
