Feds cite Tesla over worker’s death at Texas factory

Federal regulators have cited Texas-based Tesla Inc. for safety violations related to the August electrocution death of a worker at the automaker’s factory near Austin, and a Texas lawmaker is calling for documents related to the investigation to be made public.

The incident involved Victor J. Gomez , 46, an electrician who lived in Pleasanton.

Gomez was working at the site Aug. 1 when he “inspected a panel which was already energized, which immediately electrocuted him and knocked him unconscious,” according to a wrongful death lawsuit his family filed in Travis County…
