Closing a beloved northside pool, road reconstruction and customer rate increases for stormwater, solid waste and sewer bills were among the many topics discussed during Des Moines City Council’s hours-long budget discussion this week.
The discussion comes on the heels of Des Moines releasing its proposed budget for the next fiscal year, outlining what cuts are being made to address a $17 million shortfall.
