The Orange County Sheriff’s Department is asking for help from residents in further fighting crimes in the community. With their camera registry program, residents can register their cameras to give OCSD a map of available vantage points for possible crimes.
During the Jan. 21 City Council meeting, Captain Todd Hylton, Chief of Dana Point Police Services, introduced the Fusus Camera Registry Program through Connect Orange County, allowing OCSD to know where cameras are placed around neighborhoods and businesses.
According to Hylton, residents’ participation will significantly enhance emergency preparedness by enabling police, fire, and public safety professionals to better assess and respond rapidly to criminal activity and emergencies.
