Wehiwa Aloy powered by Hawaiian roots and family entering year two

Fayetteville, AR (KNWA/KFTA) – Arkansas shortstop Wehiwa Aloy grew up nearly 4000 miles away from Baum-Walker Stadium in the town of Wailku, Hawaii.

“The islands are very special, it’s all about family back at home, just being together,” Aloy said. “It’s a very small community over there so everyone knows each other.”

Aloy became a staple in Arkansas’ lineup a year ago after transferring in from Sacramento State. In one season with the Hornets, Aloy was named a Freshman All-American. In 2024, Aloy led the Hogs with 14 home runs. No other player cracked double digits…
