LAFAYETTE – No. 23-ranked Nebraska took advantage of four Louisiana errors to score four unearned runs while starting pitcher Mason McConnaughey pitched 6.0 innings as the Cornhuskers claimed a 6-1 win over the Ragin’ Cajuns in the opening game of a three-game series on Friday at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field at Russo Park.
The final two games of the three-game series will be played on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. with the second game slated to begin 30-45 minutes after. Fans can use their Saturday ticket for both games. Saturday’s ticket will grant entry into both games. The stadium will not be cleared in between games, and there will be no reentry. Any single-game tickets for Sunday’s game can be redeemed for any remaining regular season baseball game.
With the Krewe of Rio Mardi Gras parade slated for Saturday evening, fans attending the doubleheader should be prepared to exit through Gates 2 through 5 of the Cajun Field Athletic Complex to avoid any congestion from parade traffic.
