Mississippi and Ohio Rivers Spill Their Banks; Flood Warnings Up

The Mississippi and Ohio Rivers will continue to rise through the next 1 to 2 weeks as runoff from snowmelt upstream in combination with rainfall runoff moves through the river systems. According to the National Weather Service, confidence has increased that much of the river and nearby feeder rivers will see minor to moderate flooding.

With rising river levels, numerous Flood Warnings have been posted for vast areas. Flood Warnings are also in effect for smaller rivers that feed into the larger rivers. As an example, the National Weather Service office in Memphis, Tennessee has issued a Flood Warning for the Right Hand Chute Little River at Rivervale.
