A heartwarming pitch on “Shark Tank” recently brought tears to Shark Lori Greiner’s eyes. Father-son duo Mark and Kenzo Singer presented their company, Eyewris, a unique reading glasses design.
Their product, inspired by Mark’s constant search for his reading glasses, converts from a bracelet to eyewear. Kenzo, a structural engineer, designed the innovative solution in his father’s woodshop.
The Sharks were impressed, but the story took an unexpected turn. Mark revealed he was the founder of Gorilla Glue, shocking the investors. He explained he wasn’t seeking money, but rather mentorship for his son.
Mark’s heartfelt desire to leave Kenzo “in good hands” with the Sharks deeply moved Greiner. She quickly made an offer, sparking a bidding war.
Kevin O’Leary raised the stakes, and soon all five Sharks wanted in. They jointly offered $125,000 for 25% equity, a rare occurrence on the show.
After some negotiation, the Singers secured a deal with all five Sharks for 20% equity. A proud moment for Kenzo, who witnessed his father’s emotional vulnerability during the pitch.
