New Meta facility in Louisiana may require 10,000-acre solar farm

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has announced plans to build a $10 billion AI data center in northeast Louisiana.

The facility, located on a 1,400-acre megasite in Richland Parish, about 30 miles east of Monroe, is expected to be operational by 2030.

The new facility is projected to be the largest of more than 20 Meta data centers worldwide…
