Calm and sunny conditions for Colorado’s high country last through the end of the week, ending February on a warm note.
A big shift back to storminess starts off March with multiple snow events nearly daily and potentially adding feet of snow to the slopes by mid-month.
Recap:
Monday across Colorado’s high country, high temperatures recorded by the National Weather Service in Grand Junction reached 36 degrees at Steamboat and 33 degrees at Aspen Highlands summit. NWS offices in Boulder recorded a high of 37 degrees at Copper Mountain and 39 degrees at Eldora.
Tuesday started warm as well, but by late morning, clouds began streaming in across areas of the northern mountains. Snow fell lightly Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, with some northern mountain resorts reporting between a trace-1 inch for Wednesday’s first chairs.
Forecast:
On Wednesday, cooler conditions mark the coldest day of the week. High temperatures will be in the 20s in most areas in the central and northern mountains but remain in the 30s in the southern mountains due to the cold front not dipping far enough south to truly cool off the slopes…
