$500k in iPhones, iMacs, more swiped on way to local T-Mobile stores, UPS workers busted

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — An organized ring of employees who targeted UPS packages containing phones and other electronic devices meant for delivery to T-Mobile stores in Palm Beach County was busted.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) stated that T-Mobile and UPS representatives reached out to them on October 31, 2024, telling them that T-Mobile had recognized they were losing thousands of dollars from two Lake Worth locations, which began in July 2024.

They told officials that the losses amounted to over $504,000 by early October.

According to the probable cause affidavit, T-Mobile’s internal investigation led them to trace the stolen goods back to California by placing GPS tracking devices in the packages they believed were being stolen…
