MIAMI, Florida — A 20-year-old Miami man has been charged with conspiracy to distribute fentanyl resulting in death and possession of a machinegun conversion device, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida.
Domenic Pedre is accused of distributing fentanyl in South Florida from January 2024 through October 2024, including a dose linked to an overdose death in Miami-Dade County in August 2024. Pedre faces a minimum of 20 years to life in prison for the distribution charge and up to 10 years for possessing a “Glock switch” device, which converts a semi-automatic pistol into a fully automatic weapon. The United States is also seeking forfeiture of $105,563 in cash proceeds related to the fentanyl distribution conspiracy.
The charges are part of an investigation by the DEA, Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, and the City of Miami Police Department’s Gang Intelligence Unit, with assistance from the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office and the Florida Department of Corrections, Probation Services.
