PETA is protesting North Texas’ ‘Peppa Pig’ theme park

Peppa Pig , the long-running British animated children’s cartoon that follows the adventures of the titular Peppa Pig, will have its own theme park in the Dallas-Fort Worth area on March 1. The park offers young fans of the children’s series a chance to step into Peppa’s world beyond the television screen. But now, the theme park is under fire from an animal rights group.

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) plans to protest the Peppa Pig Theme Park in North Richland Hills, a suburb of Fort Worth, on March 1. The animal rights group is protesting because the park serves meat and other animal products, even though Peppa Pig ‘s world is made up of lively animals presented as intelligent beings who are basically stand-ins for humans.

“Peppa has shown her young fans that animals are individuals with emotions and unique personalities, and most children would be horrified to realize they are eating real-life Peppas, Mr. Bulls, and Mrs. Cows,” said PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman in a prepared statement…
