MINNEAPOLIS — Possible federal funding cuts have domestic violence organizations worried more men and women won’t be able to escape their abuser.
“We are already operating with less people than we should be,” said Domestic Abuse Project Executive Director Amirthini Keefe. “We turn people away every day that are calling for services because we are at capacity, and we don’t want people to sit on our list and wait because they need services now.”
