‘That’s unimaginable’ | Parents pull children from day care after worker’s arrest in connection with toddler testing positive for THC

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A 20-month-old girl was hospitalized after police said she was exposed to THC while in the care of a Cobb County day care worker. Authorities have charged 24-year-old Zyraina Fu’cia with reckless conduct and cruelty to children in the second degree.

Acworth Police said the child became sick at Laugh and Learn Day Care in Kennesaw on Cobb Parkway, but workers failed to seek medical attention. The toddler was later taken to the hospital, where tests confirmed THC—the psychoactive compound in marijuana—in her system.

“The child was having symptoms at the day care center, and it appeared that the worker did not seem to care about the symptoms the child was having,” a police spokesperson said…
