West Palm Beach Empowers Youth with Fresh Funding for Climate Initiatives Through Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Support

West Palm Beach is set to participate in Round II of Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Youth Climate Action Fund, which offers local youth ages 15 to 24 the chance to develop solutions for environmental issues. Successful proposals will receive microgrants between $1,000 and $5,000, along with mentorship from local experts.

According to the West Palm Beach website, Mayor Keith A. James said, “As Mayor of this City, I am honored that West Palm Beach has been accepted for a second round of funding. The future belongs to our young people; their leadership is critical in the long-term struggle against the changes associated with climate change. Through this initiative, we will continue to empower the next generation to lead the charge for a more sustainable future.”

The City of West Palm Beach has partnered with the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties and Philanthropy Tank to assist with reviewing applications and mentoring recipients. Amy Brand, CEO of Philanthropy Tank, emphasized the role of youth in addressing climate challenges, stating, “Our youth are going to play a large role in solving our climate issues.”…
