LOOK: America’s Favorite Grocery Chain Adds 2 Colorado Locations

Why do people love shopping at Costco stores? Is it lower (ish) prices, a larger quantity of items (like a 50-pack of paper towels), or is it that Costco lays out their stores to make them feel more roomy than their competitors?

Customers say these traits keep them returning to Costco and why the chain is known as America’s favorite grocery store. Centennial State will be home to 16 Costco stores in 2025. We almost had one in Grand Junction.

Costco Store A Sore Subject for Grand Junction

Mesa County came so close to getting its first Costco in Grand Junction in 2024, but the plans fell through as the company decided at the last minute that ‘poor soil conditions and rising construction costs’ made the site one that Costco felt was no longer viable. The company still claims to be interested in Grand Junction but seeks a project that makes sound financial sense. We will see what 2025 brings.

New Costco Store Coming to Castle Rock

One of the fastest-growing communities in Colorado is the city of Castle Rock. With a population of about 81,415 residents, Costco has plans to open a new location there in 2027. According to 9News.com, Coloradans can expect the store to be located in the Dawson Trails development, which is West of Interstate 25. Customers can expect the store to also include a gas station with a 16-pump gas station.

New Costco Store Coming to Littleton

According to the Denver Post, another fast-growing Colorado city adding a Costco store is the city of Littleton at 700 W. Mineral Avenue. The population of over 40,000 will be adding their store once an office building site has been demolished and removed.

Redevelopment in Littleton will not only make room for the new Costco, but the project will also include the addition of new traffic lights, bike and walking paths surrounding the store, and about 1000 trees…
