CANYON, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The West Texas A&M University Police Department released information regarding a robbery at a Canyon business on Friday.
According to the University Police Department, UPD officers along with the Canyon Police Department responded to the Canyon Hemp Company after receiving a burglary alarm. UPD detailed that the crime was reported to have happened at around 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 28.

Officials said their first observation of the incident indicates burglary by unlawful entry.
WT Police released some suggestion everyone may want to consider in the event of or to help against a burglary:
- Lock all outside doors and windows before leaving your home or office.
- Ensure all locks are in proper working order.
- If arriving/returning to work or home and find an unexplained open/broken window or door do not enter. Contact the Police.
- Do not touch or clean up until the police have inspected for evidence.
- If you notice anything suspicious in your neighborhood, call 9-1-1 immediately.
