NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk-Fire Rescue were called to the 1200 block of Westover Avenue on Friday evening for a report of a 2-alarm fire on the second floor of a five-story apartment building.
The first crews arrived on scene at 6:39 p.m., and removed a victim from the second floor with “serious injuries.” That person was taken to the hospital, and their condition is still unknown.
The fire was called under control about an hour later, at 7:32 p.m., but as of 8 p.m. crews are still working to remove smoke throughout the structure. Firefighters also treated one animal at the scene. No firefighters have reported any injuries…
