Affidavit: Suspects in construction gear stole $12M in jewelry at Denver mall

DENVER ( KDVR ) — Multiple people dressed as construction workers were caught on camera breaking into and stealing more than $10 million worth of merchandise from a high-end jewelry store at the Cherry Creek Mall in Denver.

According to a redacted affidavit filed in the City and County of Denver and obtained by FOX31, the reported burglary occurred in the overnight hours of July 22, 2024, at Hyde Park Jewelers inside the Cherry Creek Shopping Center.

Per the affidavit, Cherry Creek Shopping Center security responded to an alarm at the store at 11:30 p.m. the night before, July 21. However, security believed it to be a false alarm as nothing appeared out of place when they looked through the storefront window.
