Many Southwest Airlines employees in Texas are nervous about the sweeping layoffs that were announced earlier this week.
According to WFAA, Southwest Airlines will lay off 1,750 employees at its Dallas headquarters. It’s the first time in their 53-year history the big airline company has been forced to make cuts like this.
Senior Leadership Positions Cut
That total number of employees being 1,750 is 15% of its corporate positions. That number also includes 11 senior leadership positions that were eliminated.
Other Changes Announced Recently with Southwest Airlines
As you can imagine all these cuts being made are due to “restructuring.” As we all know life is costing more lately, so as a business they are having to make tough decisions for the best interest of the company as a whole.
There are changes that Southwest Airlines passengers are going to experience soon including open seating and offering red-eye flights.
