BROUSSARD, LA (March 1, 2025) – History and architecture enthusiasts have a new reason to visit Broussard with the opening of the Victorian Experience at the Paul Billeaud House. This unique business will offer monthly historical tours of the iconic Billeaud House, giving guests a glimpse into the city’s rich past.
Located at 302 East Main Street in the heart of Broussard, the Victorian Experience will host guided tours for groups of up to 30 guests. Tours begin on Saturday, March 15, 2025, with two sessions available at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Each tour will conclude with a traditional afternoon tea service.
Built in 1911 by Paul Billeaud — one of Martial Billeaud’s sons — the house was designed for his wife and three children. It remains the largest and most ornate Victorian-style residence in Lafayette Parish. The home’s architectural features include asymmetrical design, contrasting shapes, a domed octagonal turret, and complex geometry — making it both stately and whimsical.
