Fire danger will be elevated through this afternoon and evening. This is due to the very dry air in place. Outdoor burning is extremely discouraged and not permitted in southwest Virginia until after 4 p.m. In Tennessee, you must have a burn permit.
The Storm Team 11 Forecast calls for cold temperatures this morning with little warming expected through Sunday afternoon under mostly sunny skies. The high will only be around 43 degrees.
Mostly clear skies are expected tonight with a low of 19 degrees.
Monday will be partly cloudy with a high temperature near 52 degrees. Monday night will be mostly cloudy with a low of 36 degrees.
Rain chances return late Tuesday night with mostly cloudy skies expected for most of the day. The chance of rain will be 30% late with a high near 65 degrees.
Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will be likely late Tuesday night with a low of 52 degrees. The rain chance will be 80%.
The Storm Prediction Center has highlighted western portions of Tennessee and most of the south-central United States for severe weather potential Tuesday morning through Wednesday morning.
The greatest threat will be focused from Memphis Tennessee south towards Jackson Mississippi where the enhanced risk is located. While our region is NOT currently within the highlighted severe risk, I do believe we will have to watch this system closely in the coming days.

The severe weather risk will move east on Wednesday posing more of a risk for the eastern seaboard.
