A new study found that menu prices at California’s fast food restaurants are on the rise amid state-mandated minimum wage increases.
A Berkeley Research Group (BRG) study determined that fast food menu prices increased by 14.5% between September 2023 and October 2024 and predicts that incremental wage increases will spur automation to offset rising labor costs.
Assembly Bill (AB) 1228 raised the minimum wage to $20 for workers in fast food restaurants just last year in April 2024 and a planning subcommittee of the Fast Food Council (FFC) is scheduled to consider another minimum wage increase next week.…
