Hancock County Department of Job and Family Services closes due to threat

HANCOCK COUNTY, Ohio — The Hancock County Department of Job and Family Services is closed due to an unnamed threat, according to the department’s website.

HCJFS says a threat has been made to Ohio Means Jobs/Job and Family Services staff members that is part of an ongoing investigation.

In a press release issued Monday, the department said the threat was made around 3 p.m. on Feb. 28 when a call was made to the Northwest Ohio Job and Family Services call center in Sandusky County. The caller, whom the sheriff’s office described as male, was upset over canceled benefits and threatened he would “blow ya’ll up,” the agency said…
