The same conditions bringing elevated fire risk to West Texas this week could bring potential tornadoes and hail to North Texas.
According to the National Weather Service office in Fort Worth, a potent storm system that will bring thunderstorms to portions of Dallas-Fort Worth late Monday into Tuesday morning could produce “damaging straight-line winds” and “brief spin-up tornadoes.”
“Isolated instances of large hail will also be possible, especially with any storm that develops before or head of the main line,” according to the National Weather Service. “As drier air arrives Tuesday afternoon behind this departing system, elevated fire weather conditions are expected west of I-35 where windy conditions and low humidity will coincide.”…
