LAFAYETTE PARISH, La. — In February 2025, detectives with the Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division received information from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office (LPSO) regarding allegations of cruelty to a juvenile involving a deputy with LPSO. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Matthew Frost, 28, of Lafayette.
During the investigation, detectives found that Frost committed the offense of cruelty to a juvenile against a single victim on two separate occasions in June 2024. As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained through the 15th JDC, charging Frost with two counts of cruelty to a juvenile (felony).
