With a graduating class of around 500 students, it’s pretty safe to say I went to a rather large Texas public high school at the time.
The year I graduated from South Grand Prairie High School, the school probably had around 2100 freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors enrolled. With a student body that large, it seems much larger than some East Texas towns.
While having that many students in school at once seemed normal to me, I realized it wasn’t normal at all after moving to East Texas and learning that some people I worked with had only 50 or so students in their graduating class…
