DENVER ( KDVR ) — Several Colorado roads were closed on Tuesday morning for safety concerns while blowing snow caused whiteout conditions in the far Eastern Plains and parts of the mountains.
Tuesday is a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day for high winds, light snow and blizzard conditions across the far Eastern Plains. Early Tuesday morning, the blowing snow was already causing issues on the roadways, mostly toward the plains.

While the snow has started to taper off, rain and snow showers can be seen across the foothills and the Palmer Divide and winds will be breezy all day, at 20-30 mph, gusting up to 70 mph across the plains.

Meanwhile, winter weather advisories in the mountains are in place until Tuesday evening, with winter weather advisories along the Palmer Divide ending at 2 p.m.
Road closures on Tuesday
Several roads in the mountains and the plains were closed on Tuesday morning for safety closures or crashes, but most have reopened.
There were whiteout conditions west of Denver into the mountains. Parts of Interstate 70 were closed for brief periods near the Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnel.
