RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Several crews responded to a Rutherford County residential fire Tuesday reportedly caused by a burn pile.
Crews with the Eagleville Fire Department arrived at a residence on Floyd Road Tuesday around 2 p.m. and found a large outbuilding with heavy fire and a brush fire. Further investigation found the fire had spread to another exterior wall of the residence as well.

In addition to a response from Rutherford County Fire Rescue units and the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, Chapel Hill, Unionville and Williamson County resources were called to provide mutual aid. An investigation by the Rutherford County Fire Marshal’s Office determined the fire spread from a burn pile to adjacent properties and the primary residence.
The Rutherford County Fire Marshal’s Office said all burn permits are required through the Tennessee Division of Forestry for all open burning activities.
