Meghan Markle’s new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, has drawn criticism, most notably from her estranged half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr.
In a recent interview, Thomas Markle Jr. didn’t mince words, calling the series “bland” and “generic.” He also took issue with what he called Meghan’s “malarkey stories” about her childhood.
He disputed her claims about growing up cooking and eating fast food, stating their family frequented upscale restaurants and that Meghan “didn’t cook anything for anybody ever growing up.” He further contested the portrayal of Meghan as “poor and underprivileged,” insisting their upbringing was “the complete opposite.”
Thomas Jr. also expressed feeling “sorry and embarrassed for” Meghan, while noting that he didn’t mind her dropping the “Markle” surname, as it allowed him and his sister, Samantha, to distance themselves from what he considered a “stained, tarnished” image.
The criticism isn’t limited to family. Social media users have drawn comparisons between With Love, Meghan and Pamela Anderson’s Pamela’s Cooking With Love, noting striking similarities between the trailers. One user commented that Anderson’s show appeared more authentic and suggested Meghan had copied elements of it.
