CHULA VISTA, Calif. — One week after CBS 8 reported on a homeless encampment between I-5 and Bay Boulevard just south of H Street in Chula Vista, Caltrans crews have cleared the area of trash, needles, and camping supplies.
Tony Schwarz, who had previously expressed concerns about the encampment, told CBS 8 last Tuesday, “It’s a safety issue… it’s a sanitation issue.”
The property, controlled by Caltrans, was clogged with camping supplies and debris, as shown in drone footage captured by CBS 8.
