EVANSTON, IL — On Feb. 27, 2025, at approximately 5:45 a.m., officers responded to a disturbance in the 1900 block of Green Bay Road. The disturbance was between a male subject and a female, later learned to be Kiuni Glenn. As officers were investigating the disturbance, they became aware that the male subject’s residence, located in the 2000 block of Jackson Avenue, was on fire.
The Evanston Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. The fire did not result in any injuries, but two residents were displaced. The fire appeared suspicious in nature and was potentially the result of an arson. Officers and detectives started an investigation. Shortly after the investigation started, it was determined that Glenn was likely responsible for starting the fire, and she was taken into police custody.
The investigation continued, which involved witness interviews and a review of surveillance footage. The investigation revealed that prior to police arrival, Glenn made a statement indicating she was responsible for the fire.
