New book tells story of Denver’s Father’s Day Massacre, ensuing criminal trial, in painstaking detail

DENVER — Steve Epstein had three true crime books under his belt when he decided he wanted to write a novel, but soon found he was – in his words – “getting absolutely nowhere with it.”

“So, I decided to think outside the box and look for a true crime that was a little bit different than what I had written about,” Epstein, an attorney in Raleigh, N.C., told 9NEWS.
