Oregon & California Winter Weather Alert: Up to 5 Inches of Snow Expected by Thursday Morning

Medford, OR – A winter weather advisory has been issued for parts of Oregon and California, with up to 5 inches of snow expected by Thursday morning. The National Weather Service in Medford issued the advisory, which will remain in effect from 4 p.m. Wednesday until 9 a.m. Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service, the affected areas include Central and Eastern Lake County in Oregon and the Warner Mountains of Modoc County in California. Impacted highways include Highway 31 south of Silver Lake, Highway 395, and the higher elevations of Highway 140 east of Lakeview. In California, travelers on Highway 299 at Cedar Pass should prepare for snow-covered roads.
