Assault charge expunged for former Mecklenburg County sheriff’s sergeant

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A sergeant with the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office was found not guilty in an alleged domestic violence situation in 2022.

Sgt. Sean Dunne was arrested in October 2022 after a 911 call was made from his home. He was taken into custody, though not immediately, and charged with assaulting a female.

The charge against Dunne had since been expunged, however. Court documents show he was found not guilty of the assault charge in January 2023…
