Nexstar Wants Female Erie Anchor’s Lawsuit Thrown Out, Said Salary Difference Was ‘Legitimate’

Last month, Jennifer Mobilia sued Nexstar owned Erie station WJET claiming she was paid less than her male counterparts.

Parent company Nexstar Media Inc., denies the claim and wants a judge to dismiss the discrimination lawsuit.

“At all times,” according to a legal answer Nexstar filed in court, the company’s employment decisions concerning Mobilia “were based upon legitimate, non-discriminatory reasons that were not pretextual or retaliatory and without malice, ill-will or other improper motive.”…
