Woman grabbed off street, dragged into car in brazen daylight kidnapping in Oakland

( KRON ) — An unidentified woman was attacked and kidnapped on a busy Oakland street on Tuesday afternoon. The woman’s whereabouts and well-being were still unknown on Thursday morning, and the Oakland Police Department is asking for the public’s help to find her.

The brazen attack, which occurred in broad daylight, was captured on video , which the Oakland Police Department posted to YouTube, and later made private.

According to OPD, just after 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, an unidentified Black woman was walking on the 1800 block of 98th Avenue when a man tried to hit her with a car. The suspect then got out of the car and punched the woman several times, causing severe injuries.

In the video, the suspect can then be seen grabbing the woman forcefully and dragging her into the waiting car against her will. The woman, according to police, could be heard yelling that she was being kidnapped.

The suspect then got into the driver’s seat of the car and drove west on 98th Avenue to an unknown location. Police said the suspect’s vehicle was later recovered in East Oakland and determined to be stolen…
