HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — A new 225-home development along Highway 90 near North Myrtle Beach is closer to becoming a reality.
Horry County Council approved the rezoning and development agreement for Summers Cove, which would turn roughly 86 acres of family farmland into homes. However, councilmembers say the project would provide key improvements to SC 90 at the intersections of Coates Road and SC 57.
“We will also get approximately $1.3 million on top of the impact fees going towards projects in that area,” said the area’s county councilman Mark Causey. “I think one of the best things that’s coming out of this as far as for me, is they will be installing a traffic signal at Highway 90 and 57.”…
