Medford, OR – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for parts of southern Oregon and northern California until 9 a.m. PST Thursday as snow is expected to impact travel conditions.
According to the National Weather Service in Medford, snowfall accumulations between 3 and 5 inches are forecast for Central and Eastern Lake County in Oregon and the Warner Mountains in Modoc County, California. Affected areas include Highway 31 south of Silver Lake, Highway 395, and higher elevations along Highway 140 east of Lakeview. In California, drivers on Highway 299 at Cedar Pass should also prepare for hazardous conditions.
The snowfall could make travel difficult, particularly during the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes. Authorities urge motorists to slow down and exercise caution while driving through impacted areas.
