North Texas officer hit by suspected drunk driver – then he saved the driver from fire, police say

ROWLETT, Texas — A North Texas police officer saved a suspected drunk driver from a burning car after the driver hit the officer’s vehicle Thursday morning, police said.

Several lanes of Interstate 30 were closed after the driver hit a Rowlett police vehicle that was assisting Garland police. Rowlett police officer Issac Gorskikh was helping block traffic on Interstate 30 after a chase ended around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, police told WFAA.

While police worked the incident, officers shut down the eastbound lanes of I-30 between Horizon Road and Dalrock Road…
