The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is currently on the hunt for those responsible for vandalizing their equipment during the recent Mardi Gras festivities. Specifically, authorities are seeking to identify and locate suspects connected to the damage inflicted upon a mobile camera unit, an incident that occurred at the intersection of S. 9th Street & Lafayette Avenue on Saturday. According to a post on the SLMPD’s website, Third District detectives are taking the lead on the investigation.
The department has released images of the suspects involved with the hope that the public can aid in their capture. The event, steeped in celebration, also became a backdrop for this act of vandalism. As the revelry of Mardi Gras swirled through the city streets, a SLMPD mobile camera captured its own demise at the hands of mischievous vandals.
